Choose an accredited New Zealand education provider and a full-time course of study that meets your career goals.
Verify that you meet the institution’s specific academic requirements and English Language Proficiency requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores).
Complete the online application on the institution's portal. Pay any applicable application fee.
If successful, you will first receive a Conditional Offer of Place. Once you meet all conditions (e.g., final results, fee payment), you can formally accept the offer.

Apply for Admission: Apply to your chosen institution and secure an official Offer of Place letter. This letter is a crucial document.

A formal letter from an approved educational institution in the destination country confirming your enrollment in a specific course.
Proof of Identity and Citizenship:
Valid Passport: Your passport must generally be valid for at least three months beyond your intended date of departure from the destination country.
Passport-sized Photos: Recent, compliant photographs as per the application guidelines.
Proof of Funds (Financial Documents):
Tuition Fee Payment Evidence: Documentation showing that you have paid your tuition fees, have a scholarship covering them, or have a fully sanctioned education loan.
Living Expenses Funds: Evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover your living costs. (For New Zealand, this is currently NZD $20,000 per year or NZD $1,667 per month if the course is shorter than one year).
Source of Funds: Documents proving the source of your funds (e.g., bank statements, loan sanction letters, sponsorship letters).
Health and Character Certificates:
Medical Certificate/Chest X-ray: Required if you plan to stay for more than a certain period (e.g., more than six or twelve months in New Zealand) or if you are from a country with a high incidence of tuberculosis. Must be from an approved panel physician.
Police Certificate (PCC): Required to demonstrate good character, typically if you are aged 17 or over and plan to study for more than 24 months.
Academic and English Proficiency:
Academic Transcripts/Certificates: Official copies of your previous qualifications.
English Language Test Scores: Results from tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic, meeting the minimum scores set by your education provider and immigration body.
Other Supporting Documents:
Evidence of Travel: Proof you have funds for a return ticket or a confirmed return ticket to show intent to leave after your visa expires.
Financial Undertaking: If you have a financial guarantor or sponsor.
Translations: Certified English translations for any documents not in English.

Upload Documents: Upload the digital copies of all the documents you prepared in Step 2.
Pay the Visa Fee: Pay the application fee and immigration levy online using a credit or debit card. The submission date is the date the fee is paid.
Follow-Up (If Required)
VFS Global (Visa Application Centre): Although the application is online, you may be required to submit your passport or other physical documents to a VFS Global Visa Application Centre (the official partner of Immigration New Zealand in India) if requested. You might need to book an appointment for this.
Interviews: Immigration New Zealand may contact you for an interview or to request further documentation. Respond quickly to avoid delays.
Await Decision and Receive Your Visa
Decision: Immigration New Zealand will process your application and notify you of the outcome via email.
e-Visa: Once approved, you will receive an electronic visa (eVisa). You should print this and carry it with you when you travel.
