Reasons to Choose Ireland for Education
Top Universities
Choose a full-time course (minimum 15 hours per week) on the ILEP (Interim List of Eligible Programmes) that aligns with your educational background and career goals.
Verify that you meet the institution’s specific academic qualifications and English language proficiency requirements (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores).
If you receive an offer, formally accept it and pay the required tuition fee deposit. You must generally pay at least $6,000 of your tuition to meet visa requirements.
Receive the final, unconditional Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the institution. This letter is a mandatory, critical document for your visa application.

Secure Acceptance: Obtain an Offer Letter (Letter of Acceptance) from a recognised Irish educational institution for a full-time course (on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes - ILEP).
Pay Fees: Pay the full tuition fee or at least the amount required by your institution, often a deposit or the full amount, and obtain a receipt as proof of payment.
Gather Documents & Funds: Prepare all supporting documents, including proof of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS/TOEFL) and financial proof.
You must show evidence of funds to support your living expenses in addition to your tuition fees. The minimum required is generally €10,000 for each year of study (or a pro-rata amount if the course is less than 8 months).
Complete the Online Form: Visit the official Irish immigration website and complete the application using the AVATS (Automated Visa Application and Tracking System).
Print Summary: The system will generate a summary application form. Print, sign, and date this form. This form will also provide a unique transaction reference number and instructions for document submission.
Pay Fee: Pay the required non-refundable visa fee (currently €60 for a single-entry and €100 for a multiple-entry visa, plus any service charges).
Book an Appointment: Schedule an appointment at your nearest VFS Global Visa Application Centre (VAC) in India.
Submit Documents and Biometrics: Attend the VFS appointment, bringing:
Your signed Application Summary Form.
Your valid passport (valid for at least 12 months after your intended arrival).
Two recent, signed passport-sized photographs (following the specific requirements mentioned in your image analysis, including your name and IRL number on the back).
All supporting documents (offer letter, fee receipt, financial proof, academic transcripts, medical insurance, PCC, etc.).
Biometric information (fingerprints and photograph) will be taken at the VAC, unless you are exempt.
Decision and Next Steps
Processing: The application is processed by the Embassy of Ireland. Processing times for study visas are typically 4 to 8 weeks, but can vary.
Visa Stamping: Once approved, your passport will be returned to you with an entry visa stamp.
Immigration Registration (Post-Arrival): The visa only grants you permission to enter Ireland. Once you arrive, if your course is longer than 3 months, you must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) to get an Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card, which is your actual student permission (Stamp 2).
