Typically, scholars trace the birth of country music to the recording sessions that record producer and talent scout Ralph Peer held in Bristol, Tennessee, in 1927. However, the origins of country music go back much further and owe a great deal to African-American musicians, some celebrated and some anonymous and unheralded. The banjo, field hollers, and gospel music are examples of are rooted in the African-American experience. Moreover, some of the “stars” of country music learned their trade from African-American musicians. Rufus Payne- an early 20th-century African-American blues musician from Greenville, Alabama who was more widely known by his nickname Tee Tot – for instance, educated Hank Williams who was an American singer-songwriter and musician. Regarded as one of the most significant and influential American singers and songwriters of the 20th century, Williams recorded 35 singles (five released posthumously) that reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 that ranked number one (three posthumously). In addition to jazz, gospel, and the blues, country music now clearly needs to be included in the list of musical genres that have an African-American lineage.

Learning vocabulary with an interesting story
I traveled to Kashmir a couple of months back.
As a child, I always want to travel in a Rajdhani express, thanks to my 6th standard social book in which I read about it as the fastest express trains in India. I am really fascinated about the fast-moving trains and whenever I traveled with my parents I saw a red train crossing the platform in less than a minute and curiously questioned my dad about the train. He spoke high about it and say that it is a Rajdhani express.so I have finally made up my mind, even though I lose a day traveling by train, that I shall travel by train.
I reached Secunderabad station at 6:30 eagerly and anxiously waiting for the train and the most anticipated train, at least for me, has finally arrived. There are too many people– who are getting off the train, people rushing for the train, idly vendors, chai vendors, Book vendors, potters, etc. – who are shouting at their peak. The situation became even worse when a local politician arrived along with his supporters who are shouting slogans etc…there is too much of noisy and uncontrolled situation (commotion, mayhem, turmoil, chaos, anarchy, hubbub)
I boarded the train and reached to the coupe. I, fortunately, got a window seat on the coupe where there are 3 people. I was placing my 40-liter rucksack in such a place where I reach it with ease. In that noise (commotion, mayhem, turmoil, chaos, anarchy, hubbub) there comes a sudden silence–people stopped talking to each other, neither moving nor adjusting their seats, nobody was uttering a single decibel — as if something stuck them or some magic happened. I see that they are staring outside the window with their wide eyes and open mouths. They were (Awe-struck, spell bounded, agape, baffled, confounded, bemused, befuddled )
With a lot of curiosity, even I looked through the translucent window I saw a beautiful girl walking rather I should say I saw an angel who wore a white churidar and has bouncy hair. I couldn’t see her complete face as she was tall and I curse the small window for that however her smile enticed me, her eyes enthralled me .she walked so elegant. Although I didn’t see completely, her face is very captivating and she is such an exquisite.
Now even I am surprised and shocked( bemused fuddled, bewildered, Awe-struck, spell bounded, agape, baffled, confounded )
Even before all of that beauty sunk into my eyes, its all done, my visible range is through that window and she crossed it. I couldn’t see her anymore it is so short-lived, all this happened in just half a minute. It is so ephemeral, fleeting, brief, evanescent, transitory, momentary. Once again everything became normal, the same sound, the same noise the same commotion, chaos, anarchy, disorder, hubbub. People started to settle down .
the story continues in the class !!!…….
1) commotion, mayhem, turmoil, chaos, anarchy, hubbub
